Root Kitchen provides delicious, nutritious and convenient vegan meals for those with a busy lifestyle who have no time for cooking.
These vegan meals require only to be heated up and are ready to eat in a few minutes.

The company is run by brother and sister-in-law David and Rishma, who are foodies and love good quality food. Together they want to help people switch to a healthier diet and eat more plants.


Their family has a long tradition in the ready meals business. Rishma’s mum set up a ready meal business from her kitchen back in 1986 and now supplies her own label of chilled and frozen meals to some of the UK’s biggest supermarkets.
Rishma was diagnosed with ME in 2019, and whilst looking at natural ways to control the condition, she tried a plant-based diet. During her research, she also found out that there was space in the market for a convenient, nutritional, and affordable solution for busy mid-week evening meal occasions. Many people are too busy or too tired to cook, so she started creating fully nutritious and quick plant-based ready meals that are balanced, tasty and convenient.
The company uses locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. The meals are cooked from scratch by chefs in an artisan process that uses no artificial colours or preservatives. It’s similar to how you would cook at home, just on a larger scale.
The meals are then flash-frozen to lock in the nutrients and delivered to customers in recyclable packaging.
